Painting A New World - First Runner-up

5A Hau Toi Man (Winnie) participated in the International Painting Competition 2020 organised by Hong Kong International Youth Artists Society and won the first runner-up.
In Winnie’s piece, the eye represents what she sees while the tears represent sadness. These elements convey the state of the world during the pandemic: they show how chaotic it is and, despite what is going on, the spirit that people show when they fight to reinstate normality in their daily lives.
Winnie’s competition piece, which captures the human condition with finesse, makes it a relatable artwork to the adjudicators.
